Josh, Greenwood Freedom Festival is coming up soon - June 24, 2023. Your Festival Committee is looking for vibrant parade entries and we would like to invite Murat Shriners to be part of the fun!  If you would like to participate reply to this email before June 9th and we will assign you a spot. Also, please register using the following link: Parade Entry Upon payment processing, use coupon code “INVITE” to eliminate the fee.

Here are details about the parade. It begins at 4:00 pm at Greenwood United Methodist Church 525 N. Madison Avenue and end at Isom Elementary Parking lot off Old Meridan. Staging will take place at GUMC Parking lot.

All entries are limited to one vehicle. The parade route will go south on Madison, East on Surina and North on Old Meridian ending at Isom Elementary School. Email Nick Schwab if you have concerns: schwabn@greenwood.in.gov.

All parade units are required to be decorated in a patriotic theme, have entertainment value, and are encouraged to include music. Parade participants are also encouraged to distribute items that have some entertainment value to the crowd along the parade route. If you have candy or other items to distribute to parade spectators, please have volunteers available to walk them to the curbs for safe distribution. Throwing items from the parade units creates a safety risk for both spectators and parade participants. However, please note, all vehicles should keep pace with the vehicles ahead of them, even if accompanying walkers may have to trail behind.
