Greenwood Freedom Festival is coming up soon - June 25, 2022. Your Festival Committee is looking for vibrant parade entries and we would like the Murat Shriners to be part of the fun! This year’s parade will begin at 4:00 pm at Greenwood United Methodist Church - 525 N. Madison Avenue and end at Isom Elementary Parking lot off Old Meridan. Staging will take place at GUMC Parking lot.

The registration deadline is June 12th, or when unit capacity is reached, whichever occurs first. This year we are taking a capacity limit of only 50 vehicles, so don’t delay!. Due to construction and tight turns vehicle/trailer length is limited. Email Nick Schwab if you have concerns or questions: schwabn@greenwood.in.gov .

All parade units are required to be decorated in a patriotic theme, have entertainment value, and are encouraged to include music. If your parade entry does not meet the parade requirements of being decorated or provide entertainment value the committee will not allow your entry into the parade lineup.

Parade participants are also encouraged to distribute items that have some entertainment value to the crowd along the parade route. If you have candy or other items to distribute to parade spectators, please have volunteers available to walk them to the curbs for safe distribution. Throwing items from the parade units creates a safety risk for both spectators and parade participants. However, please note, all vehicles should keep pace with the vehicles ahead of them, even if accompanying walkers may have to trail behind.
